He earned a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science at the University of California, San Diego.&nbsp;His research is focused on investigating the relationship between interoceptive awareness and chronic pain conditions such as migraine, and how mind-body interventions such as mindfulness-based stress reduction impact brain mechanisms of interoception among individuals with chronic pain, mood disorders, and anxiety.
